Massage (pain relief specialization). Seva has completed 105 intensive
hours of Neuromuscular Therapy training, St. John Method.
Bio: In 1995, Seva began a career in Massage Therapy
which she knew would last a lifetime. She left nursing school and allopathic
medicine choosing instead to embark on a more holistic approach to healing,
and found the fulfilling work she was looking for in hands-on therapeutic
massage. In 1997, she became Nationally Certified.
Seva found such a joy in serving people in such a direct way, that after
exceeding the local certification standards in California from The Institute
of Psycho-Structural Balancing in Los Angeles, she soon followed up
by graduating Class Salutatorian from an accelerated program at the
Florida Academy of Massage in Ft. Myers, FL.
From there, she rapidly developed a thriving practice in San Francisco,
CA. which enabled her to enjoy extensive travel and further study. It
was in California that Seva developed a passion for Yoga, so in 1999,
she began periodically traveling to, and living in Yoga’s Birthplace
India, as she practiced and studied bodywork in America. She became
a certified Yoga instructor in 2004.
But it was in Thai Massage, that Seva found the perfect fusion of Yoga
and bodywork, combined in an artful, spiritual practice. She studied
Thai Massage in Thailand, but actually obtained 192 hours worth of certifications
in Thai (“Yoga”) Massage through the Advanced Level, from
The Thai Institute of Healing Arts in Arlington, VA, upon her most recent
return to the U.S. Of note, her Thai School Trainings and Certifications
are recognized and officially approved by the Government of Thailand,
as well as the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage
& Bodywork, (NCBTMB), USA.
Throughout the years, since her emergence as a Massage Therapist/Body
Worker in the cradle of California, Seva has trained extensively in
the field, absorbing everything possible, everywhere her spirit took
her. In 1999 she obtained a facilitator certificate from the Corstone
Center (formerly The Attitudinal Healing Center, Founder Jerry Jampolsky)
in Sausalito CA, to deepen and enrich her ability to help people with
life threatening illnesses and other challenges which she encountered
within, as well as beyond her practice.
She feels with Massage Therapy and Bodywork, that her professional and
spiritual practices are one and the same. And her sensitive temperament,
she feels, is better put to use in the service of humanity in a supportive,
loving, nurturing workplace. Having left a thriving practice in Ann
Arbor to flourish in her new, holistic setting at Body Wisdom, she takes
great pleasure in delivering to each client exactly what they need with
precision each time, then teleporting them to another, blissful dimension.
“I’m so happy to bring all of my experience, training, and
enthusiasm to Body Wisdom, where I am so appreciated and supported by
the staff. This is a place where I know I can continue to grow both
personally and professionally and have that much more richness and depth
to pass along to everyone who by Providence, finds their way beneath
my hands. This work is an honor and a privilege, and it’s my good
pleasure to attempt to heal my little corner of the Universe, here.”
