I am currently certified in Neuromuscular Massage, Myofascial Massage, Sports Massage, Advanced Geriatric Massage, Reiki (energy work originating from Japan), and Relaxation Massage. While each of these techniques can be specifically utilized with specific discomforts or populations, I enjoy integrating all of them into my massage routines. Clients often tell me that their session feels like a dance…flowing and rehearsed appropriately.
In addition to Body Wisdom, I also work with employees of the Chrysler Proving Grounds in Chelsea, MI, doing worksite chair/table massage. I thrive to work with many different populations and in different settings to expose people to the healing work of massage. I believe in the power of therapeutic touch and the potential is has to holistically change lives.
Hello! Thank you for seeking more information about my fabulous journey into the massage profession. I am originally from Marquette, MI. I attended the University of Michigan, originally to study in the department of dance. I found myself not only intrigued with learning the various styles and techniques of dance, but also with the ways in which the body moves and performs optimally. Midway through my dance training, my educational path changed to accommodate my thirst for science. I transferred into the department of kinesiology, the study of movement science. I received my Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology in 2000. Many kinesiology students choose medical school or physical therapy work as subsequent education. However, I chose massage therapy to address pain and discomfort using natural and hands-on methods, which suited my artistic, yet scientific talents. I attended the Ann Arbor Institute of Massage Therapy and graduated in 2001.
